News of the day by Richard Piat, Art News was given by Kristen Chesak.  There is a Board meeting this Wednesday at the Park Club.  Sam Cupps announced the Blood Drive next Monday, October 15, 2007.  Karl Sandelin announced that the Rotary District 6063 Raffle tickets are on sale for $20 each.  There is a Rotary District 6063 Dinner being held October 23, 2007 in Hastings - See President Judy if you'd like to attend.

A story was told by Jerry Mason of the 4 Horsemen and they're commitment of "All for one and one for all" on community projects.  The 4 Horsemen were Jerry Mason, Lee Stryker, Burton Upjohn and Joe Brogger.  Joe Brogger was presented his Rotary 50 year pin

Program:

Eric Tiller introduced Bo Parfet who presented the "Climb of Mount Everest".

Only 80 people have climbed the seven summits on each continent in the world and our speaker was one of them.  Bo started the program with a three minute video of his summit up Mount Everest.  Bo wished to share some of his experiences.  It's not about the climb to the Summit.  It's about the path to the summit.  It starts with overcoming the fear of the first step.  Sherpa's advice to conquer the summit is: "Be humble"
